Have a Netbook? Looking for Sleeve or Case?

I got a new ACER glossy red netbook a few weeks ago.  I adore it, but I've already scratched the cover because I was carry it and the powercord in a sleeve that was too big for it.  Poor little netbook.  But I've learned my lesson and am here to help you not make the same mistake.  I've started a Funky, Chic and Cool Netbook Sleeve lens over at Squidoo.

Expand-It Messenger from BBP Offers Slim, Chic Laptop Bag Style

The Expand-It sacrifices a bit of space for style, but so long as you're not intending to carry your life in your bag, it's a good bet. In fact, for commuters who depend on public transit, the bag's low profile design is a blessing on crowded routes. The bag itself has a full-size interior compartment with a removable padded laptop sleeve for the days when the laptop stays home and the gym clothes come out. There is a nice assortment of zippered and snapped pockets under the flap.

As the name suggests, the Expand-It also expands by opening the zipper that runs along the bottom and both sides of the bag, opening up a bit more capacity. The padding on the strap is cushy enough to be comfortable for a commuter; and the adjustable strap allows a cross-body carry.

King Single Laptop Backpack from Crumpler (Review)

Did I mention that I started reviewing more laptop backpacks?  Well, I'm mentioning it now :)  More and more I've heard from commuters and students, particularly women, who want something that won't cause back problems and doesn't make them look like they just stepped off the trail.

We've got reviews up of the Velocity Matrix from Slappa and The Pixie from Lexie Barnes.  The latest review: the King Single Laptop Backpack from those fun folks over at Crumpler.  From the review:

The King Single was definitely up for my urban Eco-Challenge. The backpack is tough, durable, water-resistant and weather proof - the black zips are heavy-duty and have weather covers to protect the bag's contents from the elements. It's great from a security point of view too - with its sleek design and covered zips, no one is sneaking into the King Single.

It's also a very well balanced bag - when I had to stand on the train, the King Single sat on upright on the floor, solid as can be, leaving me free to sip my coffee and judge my fellow passengers' inferior backpacks.

With its clever construction, myriad organizational options and action-oriented name, I predicted that the Swift would take me from knit klutz to knit kninja in seconds. That's right! Knit Kninja! Hear that wooshing sound? That was me, finishing a whole sock before you could turn your head!

Okay - the Swift does not *technically* make me a faster knitter. But it makes me a much more organized knitter, so that I can get to the knitting faster and that's the first step.

Looking for Funky, Chic or Cool Laptop Sleeves?

Just wanted to post about it here ... I received a couple of comments that my regular laptop bag lens was growing a bit unwieldy.  This is something I've been thinking for a while.  So I took the first step and created the Funky, Chic and Cool Laptop Sleeves lens.  I moved all my sleeve reviews over there, so that made my main lens *slightly* smaller.

I'll continue to cross-post reviews of bags and sleeves on each, but linking to the appropriate spot.  I have a couple of other ideas as well, but those will have to wait until I have a bit of time to implement.  But would be delighted if you dropped by there.  And if you're a designer and would like a sleeve reviewed, you can view the review guidelines.
