Just Posted: Review of DIY Blank Canvas Skin by Skooba Designs

This one's kinda cool .. for all you DIY artists out there!

From my review ...

Now, the Skooba Skin is very cool in its own right from a design and structure perspective. It has this fancy pants, handle-flip design ... "I'm a tote. I'm a sleeve. I'm a tote. I'm a sleeve." ... which is quite cool (you can see the two states in the picture to the right). So it works whether you want to protect the laptop in another bag, or just need a small breezy bag to carry on its own.

If you were a doodler in school or have been trying to find a use for that last bag of beads that came with your BeDazzler, then the Skooba Skin might be for you!

Look at the amazing art that some of the customers have created!  So awesome!  I'm hoping they open up a gallery, or create a flickr group, or something!

Knitted Laptop Bag .. how cute is this?

If you're a knitter or other enterprising DIY'er (I'm neither), this one might be for you.  The Mercury ... it's a knitted and felted laptop messenger bag.  I would think you'd want to line it, but it is cute as a button.  You can buy the pattern from KnitKit ... they have other bag patterns as well.

I just posted my review of the Velocity MATRIX Laptop Backpack from Slappa over on my lens.  Here's an excerpt ...

The BuckBlast Suede (Slappa's special PVC) that the exterior of the bag is made from is waterproof and easy to clean. Great for cyclists in Vancouver and other rainy locales. And the intricate stitching and detail around the rubber exo-skeleton not only provides extra structure and protection, but also looks really cool. You'll definitely be the envy of other sidekicks!

Finally (and don't let your spy-boss in on this one), there is a sneaky back pocket, lined with "STAY COOL" lining for your drinks and other spy snacks. Keep 'em cool and close at hand!
